A defining address of Bodrum's upscale coastal scene, Maçakızı combines a boutique hotel with waterfront decks, destination dining and a beach-club atmosphere. Its importance lies in making relaxed Aegean hospitality feel internationally cosmopolitan without losing its Turkish identity.

    The Story

    Origin

Maçakızı began in 1977 as Ayla Emiroğlu's modest Bodrum guesthouse, attracting a creative and sociable crowd. Her son, Sahir Erozan, subsequently developed it into the luxury hospitality address now associated with Türkbükü. The founding year refers to the original business, not the opening of today's waterfront property.

    Philosophy

An informal coastal way of life supported by polished service, serious food and a strong sense of personal hosting.

    Why Important

Maçakızı is a reference point for Bodrum's evolution from a bohemian coastal destination into an international luxury gathering place.

    Differentiation

Its appeal rests on decades of social history and the integration of hotel, restaurant and waterfront leisure, rather than a beach-party format alone.

    Food Philosophy

Turkish and Mediterranean ingredients anchor a contemporary dining offer that gives the property significance beyond sunbathing and drinks.

    Guest Experience

Days centre on lounging above the sea, swimming, long lunches and drinks. This is a hotel-integrated waterfront operation rather than a standalone sandy-beach club.

    Design Philosophy

Landscape and water take precedence over architectural spectacle, with planted slopes and waterfront platforms creating a layered relationship with the bay.

    Design & Architecture

    Furniture

Sun loungers and relaxed outdoor seating organise the waterfront into intimate social zones.

    Materials

Timber waterfront decking and light textiles sit against lush planting and the natural coastal setting.

    Architecture

Accommodation and communal spaces are distributed across a hillside descending towards the water.

    Design Language

Understated Aegean luxury with a residential, garden-led character.

    Interior Design

Airy social spaces connect the landscaped hotel grounds with open-air dining and waterfront lounging.
